🗺️ Connect with the Product Roadmap to learn more about the changes coming to Brightspace, Wave, and Creator+ over the next 6 Months!

We at D2L recognize that the Product Idea Exchange is an important pipeline for clients to make their needs known to the D2L Product Management Team. It is an opportunity for clients to work together on feature ideas, provide use cases, help each other with work arounds and communicate with D2L. For D2L, it is an opportunity to see what is important to clients, interact directly with, and get inspired by, clients.
We also recognize that currently it is a bit of a problem.
The overwhelming popularity of PIE has led to curation issues. Our past attempts to fix this have meant a lack of clarity about where ideas truly are on our roadmap. We have seen that our clients will post on PIE and then use other escalated channels to again communicate their priorities to D2L. This results in more effort for everyone. We are going to fix that.
Over the next four months there will be some changes coming to PIE to help us reset our relationship with the Product Idea Exchange and our clients who use it. These changes will include:
- A change to our statuses
- A change to our categories.
- A blitz to organize and populate appropriate statuses to our backlog of submitted PIE features.
- An effort to remove PIE items that are old, duplicate and have low support in the community, to decrease noise and improve discoverability.
- We will also be trialing a new process internally to ensure we can make a firm commitment to our clients around our PIE response times (To be announced post clean-up).
In addition, starting April 1st, 2019, there will be a new, updated, style sheet added to PIE and new ideas will now go into an ‘In Review' status. This will enable D2L to review the incoming ideas following our What Makes an Idea Great document. We commit to reviewing incoming ideas in a timely manner, with formal response commitments being announced once our new processes are established and trialed internally.
During this clean up time, please note that you may get many email updates. We suggest setting up rules in your inbox to shuffle these updates to another folder during this time. When we are finished our updates we will inform the Community.
Thank you to all our PIE contributors for your support and patience as we go through this clean up and update to our processes in order to provide you with a better experience.
