D2L has created a new tool to create Quiz questions very rapidly and add to the Quiz Question Library

Additionally: Algoquin College (D2L client) has created its own version of the tool and add functionality to create 'Fill in the Blank' questions. This tool is Open Source and can be used by anyone.

Great! How do we make it available to all our 100s of staff at our University? The old Wisconsin tool was freely available for all to use but having to access the Learning Center is quite the barrier. Can't it be made available for us to add to our own Brightspaces??

 

The Algoquin College tool is fine but requires the questions in a different format e.g. numbering is required, whereas it's not in the Wisconsin/D2L tool so providing one set of guidance is tricky!

Hi Andy you can download and install the D2L version into SurreyLearn. I suggest create a empty course then from https://community.desire2learn.com/d2l/le/content/13946/Home?itemIdentifier=D2L.LE.Content.ContentObject.ModuleCO-165257 click on the download button. One the file is downloaded upload the zip file to the manage files area of the course. Unzip the file.

The in the content area add a link to the "Table of Contents.html"

Once that is done rename it to Quiz converter and enroll instructors into the course.

Aha, thanks Ian, that's great! 👍 The D2L one is a really nice interface for staff to use so we'll add that into our guide which explains how to create tests in Brightspace.
