Welcome to the first AIG meeting of 2020! As the first session of the year, we bring you a talk on making interactive science simulations (SIMS) accessible. Taliesin Smith from the University of Colorado's PhET Interactive Simulations project (https://phet.colorado.edu/en/accessibility/prototypes) will demo some accessible SIMS they have developed and talk about the research and design behind the effort. This topic highlights the focus that content accessibility deserves, as evidenced by the introduction of the bill on Accessible Instructional Materials in Higher Education (AIM HIGH) Act in the US Congress in December 2019 (https://eduvoice.in/courtney-reintroduces-bill-for-students-with-disabilities/).
