D2L Accessibility Interest Group Monthly Meeting August 4, 2022, 11 am to 12 pm Topic: Content Accessibility Speakers: Sam Chandrashekar PhD, Global Accessibility Lead, D2L and Harsha Sharma PhD, Professor, Nebraska Methodist College Sam will start with a recap of Fusion 2022 and offer a peek into a new content accessibility testing tool UDOIT for D2L. Dr. Sharma will share NMC's accessibility initiatives and start a dialogue with the AIG members around enhancing student success. Bio Dr. Sharma is a Professor from Biological Sciences and has been teaching for over 2 decades in Higher Education. She is currently a member of the NMC DEI Advisory Board. She is passionate about promoting active learning in the classroom and has lead faculty interest groups (FIG) for several years in active learning and engaging pedagogies. Dr. Sam Chandrashekar is the Global Accessibility Lead at D2L. She has taught accessibility and inclusive design for several years in graduate programs at the University of Toronto and OCAD University.
