If you're using group activities in your courses and currently provide or are interested in providing a collaboration space for students outside of the LMS, our D2L Product Team is recruiting higher education instructors to participate in one-hour research sessions.

Instructors can sign-up to the study here. More details on the research are below.

Please pass these details on to instructors that would be a good fit for this research.

Project Details

What is this research about? We are interested in better understanding the experience of teachers who are new to using Brightspace. In particular, we’re interested in understanding what’s easy and what’s challenging when you’re setting up your course in Brightspace and in the first couple weeks of having learners active in your Brightspace course.

What is this research about?  We’re looking to better understand your process and needs for collaboration and communication for group activities in your courses. We’ll walkthrough everything from setting up the groups to student submissions. We’ll walkthrough an early design mockup to help us understand your expectations.

When is this research happening? We are aiming to interview 6 individuals. You can sign up for a time slot here: https://calendly.com/ekarakus/group-activities-and-collaboration-higher-education

What do I need to prepare? There’s nothing to prepare beforehand. We’ll send you a calendar invite with a Zoom link to access the meeting and a non-disclosure agreement to sign electronically. If for some reason, you can’t make the session, just let us know as soon as you can at ece.karakus@D2L.com.

What should I expect in the session? The session will be an hour long. We’ll ask some questions about your role and then how you manage multiple markers for each student work, also looking to get your feedback on initial wireframe designs. We’ll leave a few minutes at the end so you can provide any general feedback about your experiences in Brightspace.

What do I get out of the session? As a token of our appreciation, we will send you a gift card for $40 USD (or equivalent).

What happens after the session? We can’t always follow up with you on the impact that your session had on our design, but we do take the sessions very seriously and ensure they have an impact on our product.
