How to synchronize variables in arithmetic questions?

Hello,

I used to have variables synchronized in "embedded" or "cloze" questions in Moodle, but I could not have variables synchronized in arithmetic questions in D2L. Does anyone know how to have variables synchronized in arithmetic questions in D2L? Thank you.

Hi Kameal,

If you're referring to synchronizing variables so that the same randomly generated values are used across multiple arithmetic quiz questions, Brightspace does not currently support this functionality.

For Arithmetic Questions, each question generates its own set of random values independently, so the variables cannot be shared or synchronized between questions. You can find more information in the Brightspace documentation:

As possible alternatives, you could consider:

• Question pools with pre-set values: Create multiple versions of your questions using fixed values and place them in a question pool so that students receive a randomized version.
• Third-party LTI assessment tools: Some external assessment platforms support synchronized variables across questions and can be integrated with Brightspace via LTI.
