The Content Navigator is a streamlined widget that gives users quick access to course topics. Users can select to move from module, to submodule, to content for more direct access. This widget tracks and displays navigational history and allows one-click navigation to the last-visited module topic.
Use this widget when…
…your course homepage has another focal widget
If you have another widget that you want to drive learner behavior or draw your learner’s primary focus, the Content Navigator can contain a lot of information without taking up too much space on your homepage.
…your course doesn’t necessarily follow a linear progression
If you don’t expect your learners to progress through content module by module, and page by page, the Content Navigator allows learners more direct access to the content that matters to them right now.
…your course isn’t a course
If you’re using a Brightspace course as a repository for information, resources, and activities, choose the Content Navigator as it lets the learner target the content they need right from the homepage.

- Pay attention to naming conventions! Be clear and consistent when naming modules and topics to make it easier for learners to quickly find the topics that matter the most.
