At D2L, we are deeply committed to ensuring that all features and tools on our platform are accessible to all users. We recognize the critical importance of compatibility between assistive technologies and mainstream web tools, and we are dedicated to adopting the latest web standards to provide an inclusive experience for all users.
Currently, users of Dragon NaturallySpeaking, the speech recognition software from Nuance/Microsoft, might encounter issues with Brightspace features/tools that use web components because Dragon is not compatible with those web components.
Some assistive technology companies such as ReadSpeaker (webReader & docReader) and TextHelp (Text Reader) have upgraded their software to ensure compatibility with web components whereas Nuance/Microsoft (Dragon) have not done so. We recognize an ongoing opportunity for tools like Dragon to improve their compatibility.
