What was the session all about?
A collaborative session with the AIG members to discuss how AI-based tools could be used for improving accessibility and inclusion in education. Sam Chandrashekar, Global Accessibility Lead, D2L, started with a comparative update of the ICT & AI standards and regulations in the EU, USA, and Canada, and discussed an approach to ensuring that introducing AI into the learning space enhances accessibility and inclusion rather than diminishing. Following that, Kate Wilhelm, Director of UX Research and Accessibility, D2L, moderated a discussion around the question: “What are the conversations and emerging practices in your institution around including AI-based tools in education?”
