Hello everybody, and Happy New Year.
This month, we’re lucky to have Jenn Rose and JoAnn Edmond from Augusta University coming in to talk about a way they have found to use Competencies in Brightspace with the HeDiCom framework to allow faculty to make training experiences more meaningful.
Session Time
Thursday, February 5, 2026, 11 a.m. to 12 PM ET
Session title:
Using HeDiCom & Competencies to Help Faculty Build Digital Skills
Session summary:
Faculty attend workshop after workshop, but an important question remains. What does all of this professional development truly add up to? How do faculty know that what they are learning is building toward meaningful, long-term growth rather than isolated training moments? By tying each workshop to clear learning objectives, we ensure that every session contributes to a broader developmental pathway. Our workshops focus on faculty use of instructional technology, which requires strong and evolving digital skills. Using the HeDiCom framework in combination with D2L Brightspace Competencies, faculty can now map their progress and clearly see which skills they are developing over time. This approach transforms professional development from a series of disconnected workshops into a structured journey toward greater confidence, capability, and impact in teaching and learning.
