Jessica Murray from City University of New York (CUNY) is currently working on an asynchronous Universal Design for Learning (UDL) course in Brightspace and setting up campus-based collaborative groups for people to discuss what they’re learning and how they’re applying the UDL guidelines in their work.”
Speaker Bio:
Jessica Murray is the Director of Digital Accessibility and Media in the CUNY Office of Faculty Affairs. She advocates for greater accessibility in public transportation and in education, and leads faculty training initiatives about disability and accessibility. Murray earned her Ph.D. in developmental psychology at The Graduate Center, CUNY in 2020. She was a multimedia, web, and graphic designer prior to attending CUNY and has learned more about digital content accessibility in the time since, a topic that was not part of her undergraduate education. She has developed numerous digital research, education, and humanities projects since 2012, including rosaparksbiography.org and nyccivilrightshistory.org. She is also working to establish an archive of disability rights activism in New York City at the College of Staten Island, CUNY (nycdisabilityrightsarchive.com).
