Any timeline anticipated for LockDown Browser LTI 1.3 support?

The https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/34059-march-2026-20-26-03 state, "Brightspace's Respondus LockDown Browser integration will soon support LTI 1.3. Clients must work directly with Respondus to activate LTI 1.3. There is a new d2l.3rdParty.Respondus.LockdownLTI13LinkId variable required as part of the configuration."

I don't see this mentioned elsewhere on Brightspace Community yet (i.e., in https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/5567-product-and-services-preview%29. , or https://www.d2l.com/product-roadmap/ ). Does "soon" mean this year, or perhaps next year?

How to link a service user to an oAuth tool

In the release noets for the november release the Service Users are announced. The release notes tell you wher to find them and how to create them but I mis documentation about how to link them to an oAuth2.0 tool. Ther doesn't seem to be any documentation about that part.

What Controls Which Apps Display in Find Apps Page?

I was trying out the new Find Apps page added as part of the July 2026 release in Brightspace. What I couldn't figure out is what controls which apps display on that page. I'm somewhat familiar with the Integration Hub page (https://integrationhub.brightspace.com/) but it seems like way more apps are listed there than on the Find Apps page.

When a hotfix is required, it will always be scheduled on your hotfix day. Your hotfix day is based on your Continuous Delivery (CD) update schedule. For example: If your hotfix day is Tuesday and the Fixed Issues List indicates 20.23.x hotfix (all), we will be scheduling a hotfix for all customers and your hotfix will be scheduled for the next, upcoming Tuesday.

Hotfix days adhere to the following schedule:

Sunday:
- Wave 3 Americas
- Wave 5 Americas (if your CD update is on Wednesday with 9:00PM start)
Monday:
- Wave 3 and 4 APAC
- Wave 3 and 4 Europe
- Wave 4 Americas (if your CD update is on Thursday or Friday)
- Wave 5 Americas (if your CD update is on Wednesday with 6:00pm start)
Tuesday:
- Wave 5 APAC
- Wave 5 Europe
- Wave 5 Americas (if your CD update is on Thursday or Friday)

In the event that a hotfix needs to be deployed sooner than your regular hotfix day, it is communicated through a Hotfix Notification email.

How can we filter a search by faculty name in course offerings now that course management is no longer available?

What is "Active Display" in the Assignments tool?

In the current (Feb 2026) Release Notes, in one of the changes for the Assignments tool, I see the mention of "Active Display", capitalized, as though this were a brand or other proper name for something. This term is mentioned in a handful of places in D2L's online documentation, but without any real context in any of those cases. I've never seen this term before, and I've been supporting D2L Brightspace for 10 years.

What is it? How do we know if it's something we have, or how/if it's relevant to our situation?

If you are introducing new terms into your documentation, could you please make a point of defining them somewhere (even if only in their first mention), so that the term is searchable, we can find it, and figure out what you're referring to?

How to bulk inactivate courses after End Of Life for Course Updater tool?

Hi. I have just seen in the Product and Services Preview that an end-of-life for the Course Updater tool is planned for March 2026. We did not know that it the CU tool had been given a sunset adn were planning to use it for our housekeeping process. We had planned step 1. to be: inactivate the courses that are within scope of our housekeeping criteria (they would all be children of the same semester). By inactivating before purging, we would simulate the purge and users (who do not have access to inactivated courses) would experience that the courses are gone. If any mistakes in identifying the courses to be purges ahed been made, then we would still be able to correct it, because the course had only been inactivated and not purged.
Where can we bulk inactivate courses (preferably by semester) once the Course updater tool is no longer available? I do not see the potion in Courses or in the Org Unit Editor.

Does permission Content Service / Search for [ROLE] exist?

Hi all. In the December notes it is mentioned in "Media Library – Share folders using role-based collaborators | New" that permission

Content Service > Search for [ROLE] is required to search for users in a given role to add them as collaborators.

I do not see that permission in the Permissions matrix? Is a typo? Is it perhaps based on the role interaction "Search for [ROLE]" on organisation level?

Locating Source Courses

Is there a way to have Source Courses appear in the "My Courses" widget or on the waffle-icon drawer where you can pin courses? Or is the only way to access Source Courses via the "Source Courses" tab under the new Courses tool?

October release - Can shared content be used

Hi all. We are trying out the new "Create Space" a.k.a. Media Library improvements. It seems that when inserting an asset in a course, the only option is to accept an association that will update the asset directly in the course where it has been inserted.
While reviewing the potential usecases for "Create Space", I am comparing it to LOR which allows instructors to insert a copy of the assert (no update in case of new versions) OR a "subscription" of the asset (automatic update).
Have I understood it correctly - only the "subscription" option is available in "Create Space"? I understand how this will have the most use cases, but we can see a use case for the "copy only" tool too and I would like to know if we have missed anything. If possible, please guide on how to enable it.

Speaking of LOR - does it have a future? Or is a sunset approaching?

October - Is Source Course content changes automatically updated to associated courses?

Hi all. We are trying out the new Source Courses functionality. It seems that an assocation between a source course and course offering (re-offered or deployed) does not mean that any changes afterwards in the source course content will automatically happen in the course offer too. Does it? There is not mentioning of this feature in the Source Course documentation, as far as I can see.
Or have I missed something? That is my question. Can any one confirm what is possible when updating source courses, and if dynamic update is possible, how to achieve it. Thank you :-)

October release question about Deploy Source Courses availability

In the October release notes it says that the new Deploy Source Courses feature is available to all Creator+ customers. Is there a reason this availability is restricted to Creator+ customers and not being released to all Brightspace Core clients, similar to the other source course functionality?

Asset Processor and v2 Turnitin integration

The https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/33012-september-2025-20-25-09#lti-asset-processor-service-integration-in-assignments-new Release notes section about "LTI - Asset Processor service integration in Assignments" mentions instructors will have the option to "Add External Tool" in the "Evaluation and Feedback" panel in Assignments.

I can see this live on our development (sandbox) site since it was updated earlier this month, but I'm a little unsure what this is going to look like on our productions site because we don't have Turnitin v2 and 1.3 enabled on our development site whereas we do on our production site. Since the release notes say "slight impact" only, rather than high impact, does this mean that our v2 integration will still be in place? I.e., the option to enable/disable Turnitin will appear either above or below the new "External tools" bit?

I found the documentation about Asset Processor https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/33083-asset-processor-for-assignments-services-extension-with-lti-1-3 but there's no mention of Turnitin.

I checked turnitin.com, and there's no obvious mention of v2 no longer being supported... or any mention of D2L's Asset Processor.

Can the April release of "Automatic notifications for successful password resets" be turned off?

We recently had an experience with all of the users in our test site receiving the automatic email notifications that their passwords had been reset while we were doing some import testing. We do not actually allow user access to our test site, so the automatic messages caused a lot of confusion. Is there a way to turn those automatic notificaitons off?

Also, as a follow-up question, how do these automatic notifications configure with SSO? We use SSO for our production environment, and I don't want our end users to be receiving additional emails from D2L anytime that their organization password changes and updates their SSO credentials.
