REGISTER FOR FUSION 2026

This update is very difficult on professors with a large number of students in a class, as the right and left scroll arrows that were added scrolls past the columns too far and also leaves columns showing halfway. When you try to scroll back it goes past the column again and does not display correctly. The only option is to scroll to the bottom of the screen, use the scroll bar, and then scroll back up for grading. This is very time consuming and a frustrating 'feature' to use.

Note the update states the scroll bar was only visible at the bottom of the page, which is incorrect, it was available no matter where you were on the page, which made it very easy to navigate.

Semester Start for Administrators

I'm working on an important report for our academics that needs to show a comprehensive list of students and their assignment submission status (Submitted/Not Submitted).

The Challenge

The core issue we are running into is with the Brightspace datasets themselves:

The data only includes records for students who have actually submitted an assignment.

If a student has not submitted, they are entirely absent from the underlying dataset.

Current Report Limitation

Because of this limitation, my calculated field for "Submission Status" can currently only show "Yes." We cannot accurately identify or report on the students who have not yet submitted, as they are simply not present in the data to begin with.

Request for Guidance

Has anyone found a robust workaround or an alternative method within Brightspace to generate a complete class list against an assignment submission status?

We need a way to integrate the full list of enrolled students with the submission data so we can accurately report the "No" status.

Any suggestions on best practices for tackling this data gap would be highly appreciated!

For synchronous course events (we put them on Discover) I was creating intelligent agents and attaching .ics calendar invitations with the teams or zoom link to invite people to the sessions and have them add them to their outlook. Now with the Microsoft365 upgrade, my learners can no longer open .ics files.

Does anyone have any work arounds on how I can send enrolled learners calendar invitations?

Hello, I’m Janet! I’m the Director of Digital Learning at My3DE, where I focus on using D2L Brightspace to help bring the 3DE model to life in classrooms. I started with My3DE in June 2025, and one of the best parts of my role is collaborating with teachers to make sure the digital platform supports their work with students in meaningful and practical ways.

I’ve been working with Brightspace for over 10 years in different capacities: trainer, implementation specialist, administrator, and teacher. Along the way, I’ve developed a passion for finding innovative, time-saving solutions for educators. In fact, I received an award at my previous institution for creating new ways to leverage Brightspace that reduced the lift for teachers while improving the learning experience.

At My3DE, I’m excited to build on that foundation by ensuring our teachers have the right tools and strategies in Brightspace to engage students, track progress, and bring every dimension of the 3DE model into the digital space.
