I thought Dashboards were auto updating. How do I get my dashboard to update every morning?

Is your underlying dataset a stock Brightspace Data Set or a custom one? If a custom one, is it Direct Query or SPICE?

I created the query using SQL. Right now that query is set to direct, I create an analysis using that query and then published that using the publish button in the analysis. I need that dashboard to update or refresh every morning.

Based on my understanding, if you are using Direct Query, it should auto update your dashboard each time the dashboard is opened. However, the data freshness on the underlying dataset would be based on your particular account's schedule. This link https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/4507-about-data-hub#data-freshness) describes the base plan versus paid add-ons for data refreshes.
In our instance we have the default schedule. There are things that we know we will only see on our weekly full load. For example, unenrollments change on the weekly refresh, but of I change the role type I'll see that on the daily refresh. I don't know all of the places where I have to wait for weekly. It's just through checking for some things that I have seen patterns.
Note that if you use SPICE instead of Direct Query, you can schedule your SPICE to run at a certain time and store the result in memory. Then it isn't loading live like Direct Query each time the thing is opened. However, the same data freshness rules apply to SPICE. -
There needs to be some direction given on how to set the dashboard up to refresh. I thought the WHOLE purpose of the Analytics Builders was to get us OFF of this weekly refresh stuff!

My query and dashboard is looking at quiz data. That should at least refresh every day as students are taking quizzes at different times.

Hi Lee
Katie is correct in her comments, Analytics Builder like the previous system just uses the Brightspace datasets to create the data used in the visualizations, The dataset differentials are updated daily and shortly thereafter uploaded to Analytics Builder.
If you are using Direct Query the data that shows should be the last data updated in the datasets. If using SPICE then you have the additional step of setting up a refresh schedule for SPICE to run after the datasets have been updated in Analytics Builder.
So you should be seeing data that is no later than the last time the dataset which you can see in the datahub, was updated + max 2 hours for it to be updated in AB.
If this is not what you are seeing then please raise a support case.
