Hi I am developing coursework content on D2L. I have created a module with multiple pages of HTML and sub-modules. I am looking to copy and paste this shell ****and content****. I have found methods to copy placeholders and copy structures but they do not include content. I wish this full copy because I used HTML templates and want to keep a consistent look and feel to each of my 5 major modules without reprocessing the original templates over and over. Essentially, I guess I would like to create my own templates from my current module?? I have also explored an export/import option but do not want to have to go through and delete mass content 4 times in order to create 5 uniform modules that I can then plug and play info into. Anyone available to help please contact me as I am feeling a bit stuck! Thanks. Josh

Finally having some success using templates. I may not be utilizing these functions the best but I have made some progress. The difficult part for me was having such a large course loaded with content. When I would look through my templates I could not find the correct one. I have now created a new shell and eliminated a large portion of unnecessary information which has made this process much easier. I am positive someone more tech savvy could improve this post or process however it seems to be working for me.
Step 1: Download/Upload HTML Templates package. Add to course. Or find HTML Templates in shared folders so you do not need to add templates into course thereby slowing it down even more.
Step 2: In Content, click 'New' - "Create a File" in desired module.
Step 3: Open file. In the top middle Click 'Select a Document Template, scroll to the bottom to find Browse for a Template' or 'Browse for a Template (in this setting clicking on a template will open it in a separate window or tab if you wish to view it before selecting)'
Step 4: Use Template to create your own HTML which can become a Template for your course. Edit HTML to suit your needs and name it at the top. Check preview (bottom right of html editor)once in a while to confirm you are not changing formatting. *If copy and pasting your information from another source to this page ensure you are using 'Paste as plain text' option*
Step 5: At the bottom of the HTML editor select 'Change Path' and place this file in a folder that you will be able to find again. Save and close so you do not loose your build.
Step 6: To reuse your new template in another module. Open new module and follow Step 2-Step 3. Name your file and edit html to suit. Don't forget to save again. You do not need to change path here though you may want to if you wish to save this in another folder to keep organized.
By copying and using your template in this way it will keep you from linking multiple HTML pages to the same link. This creates a mess as you are changing information on multiple pages at once thereby overwriting your work in a different module. My other 'copy structure' and 'paste structure' method in course builder and export/import options all gave me grief in some way.
Hope this helps someone else who lacks a knowledgeable html content builder support network like me.
Cheers, J
