When will maintenance take place?
March 17th, beginning at 0800PT, and ending the same day.
Who is affected? Everyone who depends on any Turnitin infrastructure may be affected during the maintenance.
What is the expected impact? During the maintenance window, systems and services will be intermittently unavailable.
Why are we doing this? We are improving the efficiency of multiple services on which our platform depends.
If you have any questions about your service or experience an interruption in excess of this window, please contact tiisupport@turnitin.com for assistance.

@Alyssa Vigil , I will be posting an announcement to instructors in my D2L instance. One question: If a student happen to submit a paper to a TII-enabled D2L Assignment submission folder during this outage, will the instructor need to go in and push the paper through after the maintenance window is complete, or will this be done automatically as the window ends?

I have the same question as Renee.

Thank you for the question, @Renee Judd & @Suzanne Schlangen . After checking with our product team, I learned that any papers submitted during that time will need to be pushed through from the D2L side. I'm currently working with our Support team to get in touch with the right folks on D2L's side, in preparation. I will update here.

Here's an update:
Any submissions sent during the maintenance will need to be manually pushed through by D2L. Turnitin will not have the submissions; they will be housed by D2L. Per an agreement between our Support teams, a script will be run by D2L Tier 2 team which will re-queue any files submitted that haven’t yet been processed by Turnitin. The NEW workflow being enforced by D2L is that the D2L Administrator must create a case with D2L. They can do so by accessing D2L’s Service Portal. Once created, they can explain that as a result of the Turnitin Scheduled Maintenance they need assistance. D2L is aware that we will be down and that some customers may need assistance. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks for that information, @Alyssa Vigil. Let me see if I understand. I am the ASC for our D2L instance.
Saturday evening I come home from celebrating the green dye placed in the Chicago river on March 17. I see an email from Turnitin that the maintenance window is complete. I then open an INC with D2L and ask that the script be run. And the script will run before my instructors log in on Sunday and start grading papers. Right?
Question: If I don't open the INC, what will happen when the instructors go to an assignment folder that has submissions uploaded to D2L during Turnitin's downtime. Will there be a curved arrow that the instructors can click themselves to push the assignments to Turnitin? Or will that option be missing if I don't have the script run?

Correct. When you get home, after the maintenance window has closed, you can resubmit every paper that is queued and expect them to read "in process". After connecting again with our Support team here, the best suggestion we have is to communicate that your students should avoid submitting that Saturday, if at all possible.
