Hi:

I am new to Brightspace, but our university is very interested in creating reports based on learning outcomes. I know that there is nothing in the insights report builder that looks at the achievement of learning outcomes and this would me something I would need to do manually in Performance Plus. Does anyone have a SQL Query that I could use as a starting point. I have my old query from the other LMS we used but I am very very green when it comes to SQL and it is appearing to be harder than I thought to figure out the data tables in Brightspace. Basically we have learning outcomes on quiz questions and I am looking to have a report that shows at the course level how an aggregation shown as a percentage of the correct/maximum points that could be earned for each learning outcome. I also want a way to see how many quiz questions were associated with each outcome. I also want to be able to filter by student in the course and get a breakdown on their correct/max scores. It sounds more complicated than it seems and I was able to successfully write this query in my old LMS so hoping this is something I could do moving forward.

Many thanks!

Hello!

I currently am trying to analyze the results for a SCORM report. I have impersonated as different users to do a particular exam 3 times (so 3 attempts), and then exporting the SCORM data onto Excel and analyzing it.

So far, I am able to understand the different columns such as UserID, Score, etc.

However, there are two columns (Internal ID and Interaction ID) that seem confusing found in my SCORM Interactions Dataset:

These are the definitions according to the SCORM website:
o	Definition of the Interactions dataset: The SCORM Interactions Brightspace Data Set describes the runtime interactions that exist in each activity in the SCORM package. Each interaction will only be known after the first user, regardless of role, attempts it.
o	Definition of the InteractionId value: Unique identifier of the interaction.
o	Definition of the InternalId value: Unique label for the interaction.

In relation to this, I was able to find that there are duplicate data for

Example:
InteractionId Internal ID
40dd5b66-e35a-5c95-af05-40c30f4e2c10	Scene1_Slide2_MultiResponse_1_0
e363621e-7d3a-55ee-891b-7faca1213fe1	Scene1_Slide2_MultiResponse_1_0
7f477f3e-8118-5e81-bfea-583792ad0601	Scene1_Slide2_MultiResponse_2_0
047433a1-94e6-5535-be0f-b5a612b572ce	Scene1_Slide2_MultiResponse_3_0

In this case, Scene1_Slide2 represents Question 2 of my exam. The difficult part is to understand the meaning behind (1_0. 2_0, 3_0)

These are some results of a sample user that I had for my exam but I don't know how to interpret the meaning behind these (attached in image). Also in this DS, SCORM only records 2 attempts (not 3), the best attempt and the last attempt taken from the user on a particular exam.

Thank you!

In the new Content Service/Media library data sets, I'm a little confused about ContentIDs that exist in MediaObjects but not AudioVideoProcessed. I've noticed that we have many more rows in MediaObjects compared to AudioVideoProcessed, even though I assumed it would be the opposite.

Since most of the MediaObjects are not found in the AVProcessed data set, joining them results in a lot of nulls in the latter columns such as type or size. I assumed that the files would be processed when they are uploaded, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Is AVProcessed maybe only revisions/edits after the initial upload? If that's the case, how would I get the type and size of media objects that have not been edited?

What is being logged for LastModified in MediaObjects for the ones that don't also appear in AVProcessed even though they have a RevisionCount? What exactly is being modified if it's not a media processing job? Would that also include just editing the title? Adding it to a course?

Thanks in advance for any clarification on these data sets!

What exactly is an object (a criterion row?) and what does level refer to (the columns for each criterion)?

I joined Rubric Assessment (for total Score of assignment), Rubric Assessment Criteria (for the Score earned on each criterion and any text Feedback given to students, if any), Rubric Criteria Levels (for the text Description of each criterion), and Rubric Object Criteria (for the Name of each criterion) and was able to mostly recreate a graded rubric. At least I know which students received which score for each criterion, as well as their overall score in points for the rubric.

However, I'm looking for the text that labels each level in the Overall Score (example from screenshot: Good work, Strong but improvement possible, Needs improvement, Poorly prepared). Is that maybe in Rubric Object Levels? I tried joining this data set and pulling out Name, but that was just Level 1, 2, 3, etc. and it didn't seem to make sense.

Does anyone have clear explanations on how to use the Rubric data sets?

Hi Everyone,

We are working with a faculty member who wants to track student usage (viewing content) in Brightspace and track how that may or may not impact student quiz scores and overall grade. We have worked with a data consultant in DOMO and were able to get some of the data, but it is an enormous file and would take a lot of effort to make it usable to her. Aside from the large amounts, it seems Brigthspace only tracks last access, not a timestamp of every time a student clicked or entered a resource. Any thoughts on how to approach this issue that I may be overlooking? Thanks! Lauren
