Are there any resources I can use or materials I can read to make this happen?

Have any of you created a report that shows similar information?

I am working with the ContentObjects dataset, and I am trying to use it to identify content edited by faculty in their courses, particularly to review pages and learning activities for accessibility and formatting.

It seems the dataset captures details like content type, links modified or created, and by whom. However, I’d like to confirm how this data is captured.

For example, we had a faculty member make edits to discussion prompts, assignments, and certain course pages on December 5 and 6. When reviewing the dataset today, I noticed that only some edits were recorded—primarily related to course pages. However, the edits to discussions and assignments are missing from the dataset.

Could anyone clarify:

1. Does the ContentObjects dataset include edits to discussions, assignments, and other learning activities?
2. If not, is there another dataset or data source in Brightspace that tracks these edits?
3. Are there any known limitations in how the dataset captures activity that might explain the discrepancy?

Any insights or guidance on how to better track the edits across various content types would be greatly appreciated!

We currently give the faculty a choice of how to represent their course shells. However, we would like to be able to collect information about the breakdown of what types of courses might be using New Content vs Classic Content as well as being able to determined if a preponderence of Faculty are choosing one way or the other.

Any Suggestions would be welcome.

And does including the version_number in the SQL query mean I will need to manually update all the queries as the versions are updated?

Is it possible or is there something i am missing that we can get an enrollment count/ access broken down by layers above the course offering? For example, above offering/template/department, we have added divisions (12- divisions) and schools (5-schools). The filter options across the "Course access" dataset only allows us to select "course offerings" and would love to break these down by the schools or divisions within the Analytics builder and not have to export to do the additional work.

In Tool Access from the Course Overview widget, I can see views for Announcements and Grades when I filter down to the Student role, but I'm not finding anything in the data sets that would allow me to see if a student had viewed an announcement or their grades in the grade book. So far I've just found FeedbackIsRead in the Assignment Submissions data set.

Sometimes our instructors upload the syllabus to the Overview section, or paste the text of the syllabus into a content module/item description, and I can't find any mention of those in the data sets either.

So I guess my question is -

Is there any way to track if (and which and when) students have viewed:

1. Announcements
2. Grade book
3. Overview
4. Content module or item descriptions

I've looked for documentation or an example of this but without success. How do I accomplish in Analytics Builder (QuickSight) what I previously did using a recursive Magic ETL DataFlow in Insights Report Builder (DOMO)? If someone can point me to the help page(s) I've failed to find, I'll greatly appreciate it.

In Insights Report Builder I logged daily changes to, for example, the IsActive field of course offerings by joining OrganizationalUnits with my change log dataset in a Magic ETL DataFlow. The same change log dataset was both an input dataset and the output dataset of the DataFlow.

In Analytics Builder when I use Add Data > Dataset, the dataset I'm currently editing is greyed out within the "Select a dataset" list. Analytics Builder tells me, "This dataset is already in use and can't be joined again."

In Analytics Builder, what is the recommended method of logging the daily changes of fields within the Brightspace data sets to custom datasets for reporting?

I am having difficulty trying to find the field names and tables in the ever-scrolling user interface of QuickSight.

Is there a listing of the latest version 9 tables so i can do my SQL.

I also tried running the SQL and it pop up that I dun have privilleges to run SQL on my existing BrightSpace Data Set. How can I do all the joining without running the proper SQL and joins?
