I have created several dashboards within Analytics Builder for compliance trainings (ie Title 6/9, Digital Accessibility, etc) for stakeholders at my college. However, I am struggling to get an accurate list of the "current" enrollments for these course shells, as sometimes users are removed from the list.

Previously, I was using the "User Enrollments" dataset assuming it would only show active/current enrollments, but that is not the case.

I saw that there is a new ADS that shows exactly what I need: Course Offering Enrollments (https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/5560-data-hub-new-advanced-data-set-course-offering-enrollments) BUT this data set is not in Analytics.

I have tried to take the "Enrollments and Withdrawals" dataset, filter it into 2 separate tables for Enroll and Unenroll actions, and then rejoin them based on OrgUnit and UserId to identify users that have been enrolled and then unenrolled from the courses. However my joins always end up with no results.

How have y'all created a "Current Enrollments" dataset within Analytics builder?

Hi! Posting here for the first time as I had to take over this role when a colleague left.

Why am I getting this warning/error message for some of my dataflows? (screenshot above)
Dataflow owner does not have access to all input datasets....THis may be due to PDP setting.

I checked the PDP and my name is added to those with AllRows policy, so am quite puzzled why I do not have access to the datasets.

Appreciate help on this!

It seems that the overall score on analytic rubrics and holistic rubrics are logged similarly in these tables (since neither have criteria). However, when I look at our data, the feedback field is almost all nulls except for a few holistic rubrics from pre-2019 and I cannot see the initial feedback when I Iook at the rubric in D2L. Prior to the last update, data was showing up. Now nothing is showing up. I am using an SQL coding for this and it does use the Outcome Registry Owner data set. I have copied the data set to update the code for Spring semester, but I did not want to mess with Fall unless absolutely necessary.

I will be putting in a support ticket for this once the system is working, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has this issue and might have a fix.

My understanding of the SCORM Visits 9 dataset is that it should have a unique visit id each time the user visits the SCORM. My intuition defines a "visit" as the interactions between a user opening a SCORM and SCORM session being closed or timing out.

However, the dataset almost exclusively (with 3 seemingly-random exceptions) has one visit per user for any particular SCORM. Many of the rows have different FirstAccessDate, LastAccessDate, and CompletedDate columns, so there have clearly been different visits (by my definition).

Is this the intended behaviour of the dataset? Is a visit defined by the system in a different way?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm attempting to get grades of 100+ withdrawn students from a course that ran last spring semester but I'm noticing that the wrong grade items are sometimes logged as dropped in the Grade Results data set. The grading system is points and Treat ungraded items as 0 was enabled at the start of the semester. All grade items were also created before any students withdrew from the course.

Since the students withdrew early in the semester, there are many missing grades which have an automatic 0* in the gradebook and nulls in the data set. Is there a reason why the dropped items would be different between what I'm seeing under Classlist → Enrollment Statistics → View Grades for each student vs. the Grades Results data set? I assumed they would be the same data.

For example, a student has scores for quizzes 1-3, and auto 0 scores for quizzes 4-5. The category is set to drop the lowest 2 scores. In D2L, the View Grades screen correctly shows that quizzes 4 & 5 were dropped. However, in the data set, quizzes 3 & 4 are marked as dropped.

I had been using the Outcomes Aligned to Tool Objects dataset in my SQL query to re-create the Mastery View since there is no easy way to export that table from within D2L. However, this dataset now seems to be missing many outcomes. Has anyone else noticed that this has changed? Some outcomes are no longer logged under an OwnerId/RegistryId even if they were created within the course.

For example, if I filter down to one OutcomeId in Outcomes in Registries, it returns 9 unique OwnerIds/RegistryIds. All of those courses include this outcome added directly to an assignment or a rubric and therefore the outcome always appear in Mastery View. But if I filter down to that same OutcomeId in Outcomes Aligned to Tool Objects, then it returns only 2 rows. Why would the other 7 RegistryIds be missing from this dataset if the alignment does exist?

Hello. We recently gained access to the new Analytics Builder, and I am comparing features between it and the Insights Report Builder. I was attempting to test scheduled sending of data, and I am only seeing a PDF option for dashboards. Does anyone know how to send CSV data on a schedule like you can in DOMO? I sure hope I am just missing something, otherwise, this new system is a downgrade, lacking some very basic features. Any help would be appreciated!

We are considering Performance+. I would like to know if the data model used by Performance+ the same as the Data Hub BDS or does it provide access to data that is not available in the Data Hub. I have not been able to get a straight answer.

It already seems like the Advanced Data Sets are not using the same data model as presented by the BDS. After struggling to re-create the same data as in an ADS in order to be able to expand it, I asked support to let me know which BDS are used by each ADS and they wouldn't tell me.

If it does use a different data model, is that published anywhere ? I have looked and haven't been able to find it.

One of the areas that the datasets are vary much lacking have to do with LMS administrators as a type of user. There is very little data available to help support the actual administration of the LMS such as performance and usage information about various features. I had to use Google Analytics to find out which assessment tool was being used most so that I could optimize the navigation bar in courses. I am hoping P+ might be able to provide more of this information. However, I can't tell if I can't see the data model.

Hi,

We're just looking into building an Insights/Domo report to identify students that have not submitted assignments. We use Release Conditions and Special Access so in order to work out who hasn't submitted we need to know who is eligible to submit, so this is not necessarily every student on the Class List. We can work this out for Individual submissions but for Group Assignments, only students who are enrolled in a Group which belongs to the Group Category that is linked to an assignment can see the submission box and submit, so these are the eligible students. Unfortunately I can't find anything in the DataHub relating to Group Categories.

Has anyone had this issue and overcome it?

Looks like the other option might be via API as this does seem to know about Group Categories.

Thanks,

Tim

I'm trying to create a data flow to determine which courses are actively using the grade book. I think I'm just going to filter out all categories, Final Calculated, and Final Adjusted grade objects, and then look at the latest actions logged to make sure that grades have been entered and not just grade items created and then never used.

I thought I could just do a left join with Grade Objects and Grade Objects Log since I thought that if a grade book had never been used in a course, there would be no actions logged in the Grade Objects Log data set. However, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Almost every course that just has the Final Calculated Grade and Final Adjusted Grade with no grades entered into the grade book still has Set User Grade - Calculated logged as an action on the Final Calculated Grade when the course was created. I also came across a handful of courses that had no actions logged at all, so that makes it more confusing.

So I'm wondering what exactly does Set User Grade - Calculated mean?
