I was watching the Brightspace tutorial compilation, and one of the videos talk about how you can use CPD records to set personal goals and targets. The problem being is it never says where it's located, and I can't find it.

Late/missed submissions to assignments & discussions

Greetings,

We are trying to figure out how to get a report on late/missed submissions to assignments and discussions, and course content access - for all students/courses in a term. We are unable to find a ready to use/easy to find report in the Insights Portal Dashboards.

Ideally, the report would have Course - Count of late/missed assignments - Count of late/missed discussion posts - average time spent with content - average grade

Hoping that someone else has found a way to do this and is able to share the directions.

is there any way we can see who made an account inactive? It seems to me there is no log about this, i can't find it in the Brightspace interface but also not in the datahub files…..thanks in advance!

What rights allow for a user to view the content of a virtual classrooom in a completed course

I have an instructor who will be taking over a course. She wants to see the virtual classroom recordings from prior terms. I want to give her read only access to the course as a whole, but not sure what rights would give her that for those recording. I am the overall admin for the school.

Discussion Name Change Not Reflecting in Gradebook – Brightspace

I would like to understand an issue related to Discussions and the Gradebook in Brightspace.

When a Discussion topic is linked to the Gradebook and we later change the naming convention of that specific Discussion, the Gradebook continues to display the previous name instead of the updated one.

As a result, we are required to manually update the Gradebook item name, which is a very time-consuming process, especially when managing multiple courses and discussions. Since the Discussion is already linked to the Gradebook, we expected the updated Discussion title to automatically reflect in the Gradebook.

Could you please explain the reason for this and let us know if there is any automation or system-level solution available to synchronize Discussion name changes with the Gradebook?

Is there a breadcrumb trail similar to the classic experience?
Can the whole LH menu be expanded or collapsed in one click?
Is there a student navigation video?

Course Selector access issue

We have had an issue where users have been able to register for a course that was not intended for them to access (we have two different user roles for learners, to differentiate between two stages of career). Is there a method where we can restrict access to the Course Selector icon in the Brightspace Header so these users cannot use this method to access the course they have enrolled in?

Video editing

I have a video i inserted in the document template (09_Video_Lecture), but when I try to insert a new video in the same template, the video size is not the same (the original is 16by9; width="560" height="315" and my second video is also the same size in the source code, yet the two videos are different sizes.

How do I ensure the two videos are the same size? (sorry i made the image so large, but i can't minimize it.

Importing multi-answer questions from Moodle properly

Hi, I quite new to the Brightspace platform. I am importing questions from Moodle, some of which are what Brightspace calls Multi-Select. However, Brightspace does not recognize this and designates them as Multiple Choice. Is there a way to import these types of questions properly? If not, is there an easy way to change an existing question in Brightspace from Multiple Choice to Multi-Select? All the information was imported, that is, the weighted amount for each answer and the feedback for each answer. When I select a question, the option for selecting question type is greyed out.

Can navbars be personalized per user or role instead of applying to everyone?

I have a question about editing the navigation bar in Brightspace. When I tried customizing the navbar, I noticed that the changes applied to all users in the course or org unit, rather than just to my own view.

Is there a way to create a personalized or user-specific navbar, where only my account—or a specific role—sees the changes, instead of the entire group using the same setup? Or is navbar editing only applied at the course/org level by default?

I’d appreciate any clarification or workaround you can share. Thank you

I'm trying to figure out an intelligent organization to my classes and groups and so forth, so I'll be back here looking for info I'm sure. I have multiple courses that have the same exact name (like both are called HBIO 302 but one is the lab section and one is the lecture section) and I would like to be able to change their names so that I can differentiate them easier (In that example, changing one to HBIO 302 Lab). Is this possible? How do I do it? Thanks!!
